What's new

Every release, newest first.

  1. 1.0[DATE]

    Toolnotch 1.0

The first release. Three tools in the notch, one purchase.

    Windows

    • Keyboard snapping on ⌃⌥: halves, quarters, thirds, two-thirds, maximize and center.
    • Press the same shortcut again to cycle ½ → ⅔ → ⅓, then move the window to the next display.
    • Unplug an external display and every window moves onto the laptop; plug it back in and they return where they were.
    • Undo any window action with ⌃⌥⌫. The island shows the action and its undo key.
    • Workspaces: arrange windows across screens, open, hide or quit apps, run a Shortcut, and pause Wellbeing breaks, with one keystroke or when a display connects.
    • Per-app rules, tidy all windows (⌃⌥=), and drag a window to the notch to pick a layout.
    • Remappable shortcuts with conflict detection.

    Wellbeing

    • 20-20-20 screen breaks in three modes: Gentle, Moderate and Strict.
    • A 30-second heads-up in the island before each break.
    • Pauses automatically during screen recording, calls and meetings, video playback, deep-focus apps and fullscreen games, and offers a break when a call ends.
    • Waits for you to stop typing before a break starts.
    • Long guided breaks every 90 minutes, blink and posture nudges.
    • Daily panel, weekly report, and streaks that count a day when at least 80% of its breaks were taken.

    Clipboard

    • ⌘⇧V drops your history from the notch, as a list with preview or a grid.
    • Real app icons, favicons and link previews, with readable types.
    • Secrets are masked on screen.
    • Paste Stack, pinned items, snippets and search.

    Everywhere

    • The notch hub: click the notch or the menu bar icon to see all three tools.
    • On displays without a notch, panels hang from the menu bar.
    • Respects Reduce Motion.
